Merry Christmas From Australia

Christmas is just five days away. The year seems to have flown by. I’m told that’s a sign of getting older but I can’t remember who told me that, another ageing tell tale sign apparently.

This year we are spending Christmas at home. Two of my sisters-in-law and a nephew will be joining us from Scotland. I’m sure they will appreciate the warmer weather which is forecast to be a fine 28C. I’m looking forward to seeing them.

If you are from the northern hemisphere, you are probably experiencing a cold winter and most likely are looking forward to a hot lunch or dinner on the big day. In Australia, Christmas feasts vary depending on the temperature. Traditional meals of turkey, ham and pork finished off with a warm plum pudding are still popular but with seafood in abundance along the coastline, a smorgasbord of prawns (shrimp), fish, Moreton bay bugs (tastes like a small lobster), oysters and crab will grace many Aussie tables this year.

2016 has been another great year for C T Mitchell books. The original box set featured in the QWC Books from our Backyard series. Breaking Point was featured in the Readers Favorite Awards as well as an interview in the Tweed Daily News. 2017 will see more characters added to the Wood Duck Media stable.

So as this year draws to a close I hope that you get to spend your Christmas with loved ones. I truly appreciated your support throughout the year and have thoroughly enjoyed responding to over 300 + of your emails per week where you’ve shared your stories and we’ve gotten to know each other a little more. Priceless!

Merry Christmas and A Prosperous 2017!
